I'm surprised it took so long. Plus Harry Potter's popularity has really waned too. It's a good thing she wasn't like most kids in this scenario and jump out the second floor window.

While this is sad news it's not like young children have ever needed an excuse -other than that they are young children- to bang themselves up. Personally I'm more fascinated by the story on the side column featuring a giant squid. Now that's the sort of reporting I like.

That's sorta terrible.. Though I also have something against the general genetic breeding of southerners and I say that because I've lived in the south for a little more than eight years now. And their lack of intelligence never ceases to amaze me. Perhaps NC's a tad different but SC is the bottom of the barrel in intelligence... which would explain the whole low SAT scores.

In the end, I'm not surprised that a story like that came from the south. ^_^;

I'm just waiting for all the Right Wing religious groups to use this article to add to their Harry Potter is evil hate campaign...

Ishmael: giant squid?! i missed that article. i gotta check it out (ever since i saw this thing on pbs, i've been interested in those giant something-pods -_-)

Tashoku Kisune: WHEEEEe-HAW!!! (ack, i wish i had my other avatar .... wait, there it is ^_^)

Satoshi Miwa: haha, they'll pop up ... sooner or later, blaming Harry Potter, lesbianism, the Devil, and rock music on the ills of society

Of course...But then they'll ignore the fact the kid wasn't under proper supervision while the accident happened. Cause that couldn't be the cause, it had to be an evil book...And Rock Music..

*rolls eyes*

o_O Wheee-haw? Yowza... that's like somethin' straight outta Texas.

Cool tag, btw. Amano rules! ^_^

And.... it's true. They probably will use this to add to the Harry Potter is Evil Hate Club. I live smack dab in the middle of part of the Bible Belt of the US. I cannot preach the wrongness of all those Right Wingers enough. ^_^ I've been sent to a few articles already that have claimed some rediculous things and completely missed the whole point of the story. o_O I've read all the books.. and yes, I admit I'm a complete dork! ^_^ But I'm happy this way. (Besides, I tested positive for Slytherin. ;p) So far, what I've seen is that the first book was the tamest of them all. I'm not going to even ASK what happens after the second movie shows up. Forget kids leaping off buildings... we're gonna have to worry about them picking up snakes. <cackles> But once again.. it'll be poor supervision and bad breeding to blame... not any sort of silly movie. Parents need to start teaching their kids to tell the difference between reality and fantasy. My parents did that to me.. and now I'm a cynical bitch... but I never did anything stupid like jump off a building. ^_^; nope.. instead I put my hand on a hot exhaust pipe from a car. Oh well.... at least I wasn't confusing reality... ^_~ My parents just told me not to.... so I did. Bwa hahahahahahahahah- Ow!

Amen to that!

(on topic)
I don't get how the girl got hurt... did she get impaled on the broom or something? (and that poor boy who was watching her... he must feel awful)
