Already this looks better than the movie...can't wait to see how it turns out.
That wouldn't be too hard considering how dumb the movie was. However this does look much better. I'm glad they made her look female in this version. In the movie, she resembled a man with breasts.

It's also a good thing that Oshii is not directing the TV Show, i love his films but they are damn too slow and contemplative (according to rumors he is working on the next GITS film that will be released late 2003)

Fabien, démon! The main problem in the movie was not Oshii IMO, Masamune Shirow was...

Yeah, I heard about this. I wanted to find more information about the T.V. series, but it looks like I got it here.

And in perhaps the quickest turn around time I've ever seen for a non-parent company title,. GITS TV has already been picked up by Bandai (Just one day after the Production IG site opened up). Guess Digi-subs sorta of sped the process up on this one...
Glad there using the manga style designs and not the butt ugly movie designs. Those really turned me off the movie. That and the fact Oshii wasn't at his directing best in the movie (Though he got it back togther for the really good Jin-Roh).

Looks great, I wonder how many time will pass until it comes in a understandable language.

About time! I love the Manga and the Anime, and I am a huge Shirow fan! I can't wait until it comes stateside somehow... then again, I am waiting for the GITS2 manga to come out later this year in the US.

Bandai already announced the acquisition rights, so it might hit sooner than we think.
Another tidbit while browsing the forums there: Yoko Kanno(of Bebop fame) is doing the music.
This just gets better and better.

Oh boy! You know what that means! Wendee Lee! Booya! Now if they can just get Crispin Freeman and Cam Clarke to round out the cast...
