I'm having some trouble on FFIV on my PSX. Ok, I have beaten the stupid game a long time ago on my SNES, but I can't get past this part and no FAQ has helped me yet. It's the EvilWall. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about. It's really ticking me off now, and if anyone could offer any helpful advice, I'd appreciate it. Helpful advice is NOT telling me to go look at an FAQ, helpful advice IS telling me what has worked for you. Thanks!

That thing is a total bitch. You should definitely have most of Rydia's summons like Asura and Leviathan and cast slow on it since basically the point is defeat it as fast as possible. It also might help to unload all of Edge's ninja stars.
There really isn't a lot of strategy in FFVI. Basically if you already are doing what I suggested to no avail, your level just isn't high enough.

Heh, I don't really remember how I fought the EvilWall, but did you know that the PSX version is the hard version of FFIV? The US SNES FFII was the easy version!

You gotta go through the cave of monsters and get the "Leviatan" summon first. Basically cast slow on it and then use all of your most powerful spells and attacks, hoping it dies before your party does.

NeoRasa: You don't HAVE to get Leviatan, it just makes it easier. I didn't do that first, so I have to do it without it. I may HAVE to go back to an old save though and get Leviatan because it does seem impossible without it.

You don't need Leviathan. Just wail on it (although every time I fought it was after I was through getting the Leviathan summon, so that's around level 34 or something). Use Edge's Throwing move if you have to (although I never found the need to throw anything at any point in the game). Use Jump, Haste (important, level to get it if you have to), Virus (yes, Virus). Raise everybody that dies when it comes down to crush time if you have to.
And it's not like Easytype was that much more easier than the regular version. I couldn't tell the difference (except for certain area layouts were slightly different).

I beat it. I just made EvilWall EXTREMELY Slow with the Slow spell and continued to attack it and was able to beat it. I'm getting Leviatan now. I actually didn't have much trouble when I finally beat him. Thanks for the help everyone!
