I saw this film yesterday and I didn't really think it was that bad at all. The critics totally slagged it off, but they're the same bitches that said there's too much nudity in the film. There's not enough if you ask me. The plot fits in well with the games and it's good that it didn't follow the exact same story, but rather a sub-plot. I don't really have anything bad to say about the film. Apart from that it wasn't scary. But who cares, at least it was better than Star Wars: Attack of the Bone on

You can't really blame the critics, cause they didn't play the game, and, well...eveyone knows movie critics are just a bunch of spoony bards!

Work on the second RE movie (RE2: Nemesis) has started, Jill will be in it, so I'm a little worried about them messing up the story, but I'm giving them the benifit of the doubt.

Oh and, the RE movie DVD is getting released at the end of this month, and there should be a second edition DVD by the end of the year...with an alternate ending!

Though a bit on the draggy side, it was a nice movie with enough action, suspense and violence to please video game players like us. Yeah blast the silly critics. I like it. It was better than FF: the movie IMHO.

Nudity in the film? Didn't see any myself. If they want nudity in a zombie flick, they just need to head to Italy :P Italians are the Gods of zombie films. Lucio Fulci is a genius :)
Anyways, I quite enjoyed Resident Evil. I saw it twice. Once with freinds, then once as my brother needed to be accompanied by someone over 17 to see it and I was nominated. He loved it too.
It was a fresh zombie flick at that I'll say. Most of them, including the recent Dead Hate The Living is the sterotypical "Zombies return what are we going to do?!" But RE was more of a "zombies have returned so lets shoot the crap outta them and get otutta here!" :) I lvoed the movie.
People say the characters are bland or stupid at that, but I didn't really see that. They were really cool in my opinion, especially Rain and Alice.
My favorite part in the movie is when everyone thinks Cap shot himself in the head but he didn't. Shivers went up my spine when he opened the dorr turning out to be alive.
Anyways, yeah, great movie, and I am MEGA PISSED about this DVD scam. They always do this wih most movies on DVDs. They release a crappy version of it first, then people have to wait for a better version to come out later! And most of the time they don't announce it, so you end up having ot buy two DVDs! I say just do it right or don't do it at all!

There were a few nipples and Alice's cat was out at the end

I thought the CG looked a bit crappy at times and the mansion wasn't faithful enough to the Spencer Mansion in the game...but I am being a bit picky.

MMmmhh, the movie was bad bad bad...
The only good thing about it was the NEMESIS mention at the end, and that's all...

What's up with that techno crap played at every scene???
