Some girls mature very quickly, and when you look at Kula in the game, she looks fairly mature ( but short ). Besides, what with her being a possible clone and all, she could be aging differently, no? ^_^
One more time, I can't understand this kind of argumentation : why bother about her supposed age, she is not real.
I think everybody here is enough mature and wise to understand the difference between a real 14 years old girl, and some cute video game character, even if it (I use it and not her to make my point clear) is used by people to show stuff not so cute and quite not for minors...
I don't like the people who are saying "Ow, she has this so hot body but she is 14, I don't want the other and myself to think I'm a pedophile.".

quote: Nice points Taa Kun... But let me ask this: Where are you from? Perceptions vary from country to country, don't expect everyone in here think the same as you.
I'm from France, from a educated familly. Two facts I will point : _ When I was 12, there was a girl of the same age in my class at school who was really 'free' about her body... this kind of thing made me worry, even at my age, back... So I think that now I can relativise about a real 12 years old girl and a drawing...
_ I have a friend at the same age, with the same point of view, which hobby is collecting H dojinshis and drawing (you will note that I use the word drawing and not picture) and works for the police at the 'morals section' (sorry, I don't know the english/american equivalence of the french 'brigade des moeurs'), and he knows the difference between these thinks. (I won't give exemples he gave me of what he 'usually' finds, every sane people would throw up, like I did, and I'm feeling sick with just remembering his stories...)

Kula is not 3? Hmmmm probably I misread it somewhere then...My mistake...
I don't know about you guys or SNK creators, but Kula gave me the impression that she is a minor with lollipop and Diana protecting her. For me, the way I form a liking (or hate) about video games characters is how strong the character is with regards to real life( from how I perceive he/she in the game). Yes, they are not real for pete's sake, I am not going to marry Mai Shiranui just because she is beautiful, big breasts and most importantly she is 21. But I will marry her because she has a gutsy character and she looks really like a 21 in reality. Then again, kula pic 6 looks very much different from the kula in KOF, and that is why I like pic 6, because I can relate to THAT Kula, a much more mature one.
What's wrong with saying "Ow, she has this so hot body but she is 14, I don't want the other and myself to think I'm a pedophile."? Conservative thinkings, no doubt, but there is where reality sets in. If video games differ too much from reality, why bother to indulge in them?

Well, my point is:
We discuse about the age, power levels, story, tastes and similar things about our favorite characters because we like them. We live those characters, we are fond of them, and if we can't discusse things about them, what's the point of having forums like this one? or having nice stories for games? after all they are fictional characters, right? I think we try to make this fantasy world come to life when we discusse things like this, and I think it's pretty valid to do so. Anyway, that's only my point of view.

There are different issues that affect my opinions on stuff. My Kula reaction probably stems from a certain "correctness" that I strive for in ideas. Yes, I know that girls can be more mature than would appear (putting up with my sister taught me alot about that), but I'm guessing that it's that fact that I perceive her as being cute, yet all I see of alot of female characters is lame porn. I dislike hentai but (sticking my neck out here) not because of its sexual nature. Rather, I think that instead of having the tiniest bit of romance, it's just a bunch of perverted stuff for single guys to whack off to. Yes, I know that this is a rough and likely incorrect view of some people but it's my opinion. I try to look at some things due to my great desire to develop unique characters. I know my Interney travels have altered a couple of my opinions and caused me to look at my characters diferently. There are are times where, in bored disgust, I randomly try to guess what type of hentai a character will more commonly be in after I release them. Opened my eyes about a couple of quirks with my characters.

Ha ha ha, you sum up porn period, right there.. only I think it would be more appropriate to say it's aimed at all men, because a great deal of married men enjoy a bit of porn, too. It's all just part of being a man.. ^_^
As a note, there IS some romantic H out there, but it isn't exactly common.. Also, as an even more interesting note, I own a number of H doujinshi drawn by female artists, and it's interesting to look at the differences between them and the ones done by men.. They tend to have odd pairings, too ( Kyo and Leona?? It's like they're looking for an excuse to get Kyo in there.. )
Edit: Ha ha ha, when/where did this all start, anyway? And where did H come in to it? I was just saying I like Kula.. ^_^

Hey Zam oh boy, it is PERFECTLY OK to voice out your views no matter how much of an idiosyncrasis it is. Some mentalities will be weird no doubt, but that is where we start interesting interactions!! I appreciate people who comes up and says how they feel and thinks, that is how everybody benefits and evolves!

True, everyone has different views and opinions about things, as long as we respect each other's there's no problem. That's one of the cool things about this board, being more a "familiar" board everyone can express with more liberty. I know some people here that having different opinions with others just stay calm, no need to start a flame, or to be ashamed to post something.
And back to the theme of the doujins, I like them more if there's a story behind or some humor. But I look mostly into the art, some doujin artists are top-level pros (just check the links at the top of the link page on my website) and it's good to see more art of our favorite characters (and I have a weakness for f/f doujins too, heh).
And again, back to the Kula theme, she's a very interesting character, I'm not really into videogame cute-young girls, but her personality is appealing, and ice has always been an interesting element for me in fighting games. Plus her design is nice, with a good combination of colors.

I know, yet at the same time, all my life I've been used to getting my opinions shot down. I've been using Tizoc's quote for a reason. All the more reason for me to get off my lazy behind and finish my forum. I also need to try to get back to drawing again. I used to love drawing and now I hate listening to other's mouths. Not only that but I'm TOO much of a perfectionist. I can't get better because I ditch my stuff too easily; what I see on paper is not what I see in my mind.
Oh and by the way, I didn't mention married men because in my opinion, if the hentai/porn/whatever is not being shared between the couple for romantic reasons, the offending member should be beat in the head with a blunt object, repeatedly (aww, aren't I nice). With how much I strive for romance in my own life, I royally despise seeing others treat their partner wrong.
Err...back on topic. If I can get back to drawing, I may have some Elena fanart.
