when i first heard that one of the new guilty gear characters was a guy dressed up as a girl, i was absolutely terrified to lust at any of the newcomers
... *fears the angry mob* truthfully, i thought the transvestite was I-No. she's got that whole Rocky Horror Picture Show look that i absolutely love. and after finding out that that hot sexy babe really was a hot sexy babe, it made things better. i probably don't like I-No as much as i normally would. way too many people out there are obsessed with her and i tend to like characters more when others don't pay too much attention to them
but anyways, Bridget! Bridget ... even if he was a girl, he'd be way too young for me to lust at. but as a character, i think he's unique and i wanna try out his zany yo-yo attacks. i'm sure they have insane range. fun to annoy people with ^-^
in the last guilty gear, i'd imagine that he brings his hometown some pride (about the whole twin scare) and will finally buy some pants, proud to be a boy. please ... buy some pants .. ah, screw it. i'll be happy to see his sexy sexy sexy legs again!!

Actually, I can tell you exactly what Bridget is based on.

And this is a decently popular manga also.
Another thing... want to tie this into music?
There's a French triplets singer group called "Les Jiminis 3". The triplets' names are, Bridget, Monica, and Rozette.
Their albums are sold in Japan also.
There. I solved the mystery of Briget's origin. :)
As for being a boy and not a girl... That part is probably original, since if it was a girl, it would be an exact rip-off of Rozette. The attribute of being a boy dressed like a girl is so unique a characteristic, it could fade away the impact of likeliness factor of his looks to the original character.
Btw, I-no is based on the Japanese singer Shiina Ringo. She looks exactly like her, same attributes. Oh, and even the guitar is based on Ringo's. :)

I already knew those references, hence why I said "I am convinced that Bridget is part of an Aerosmith reference," because I think the whole guy in drag deal may be based off the Aerosmith song since it's a dude that looks like a lady.
Edit:Also I don't think Ishiwatari would be too concerned with copyrights since it would be more like a homage than a ripoff...like how Baiken is basically Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin.
