Oh my... there's a new mod chip called the
Xtender for the XBox...

"Most of the mod chips promise similar
functions based on disabling copy-protection
features built into the Xbox. Customers are
promised the ability to play games copied on
recordable CD and DVD discs (and perhaps
swapped as files on the Internet), play
otherwise inaccessible foreign titles, and
copy DVD movie discs otherwise protected by
software from Macrovision."

The full report can be found here

...Because I tend to think they are too risky. I never modded my Saturn or my DC, instead opting for Boot Disks and 4-in-1 cards. I dont plan on modding my GC, instead waiting for a GC bootdisk (Gameshark)? If I had an X-box, I would waid for a boot disc too.

Just do what I'm going to do. Send it off to someone who knows how to mod. But I think the x-box might have a boot disk. People have figured out how the x-box boots up.

Yeah, I know, Lik-Sang has it available for preorder, but I trust Lik-Sang about as far as I can throw them, the last I heard was that Messiah production was cancelled.

It was in Europe. Sony sued their ass. They moved production to China because of that. Good luck finding a boot disk. It will never come out due to how the boot up goes. And the messiah is like $100 for the chip and around $50-60 for installation. It has 49 wires.

MHmm most people don't want the modchip because they can play pirated/import games, its for the development scene. Dreamcast is wildly popular and still coders are releasing emulators and even a primitive divx player, but with Xbox using DirectX and Windows code as its backbone, give it a few weeks until mp3 players, divx players, emulators, everything hits the system. Hell a group is even working on porting Linux to the XBox, so if thats not a reason to buy the system I don't know what is.

To all of you guys with PS2s out there, that worry about having to solder to the system possibly destroying it, I have two options available for you. 1. Allow my associates and I to do the installation of a Messiah Modchip for you, OR 2. Use a NO-SOLDER chip. It's totally plug and play. The No Solder chip is only $40. Stick it in your system and don't worry about damaging it. The Messiah chip is $80 + installation(approxmiately $45). If you are intrested in the no-solder chip or messiah chip drop me a line at Supleh3@knology.net. I am paypal verified for your safety, and have an ebay account as an active seller with no negative feedback.
