Arrgghh! Soccer, I hate it with a passion!
Anyway, I made a bet with a friend, if México doesn't pass the first round, I will get a cool reward, he he.
*prays for the mexican losers to... well, to lose, mwa ha ha ha*

I don't care for the sport, really. It's not big in America anyway.

Two words,though. DAVID BECKHAM!

Ah Football, er, I mean Soccer (its funny, as yankee, I like to call soccer football... strange).. anyways, as I was saying, Soccer is the ULTIMATE sport... real men play the game...

Its good that once again, the world unites for friendly competitions. Teams I am going for: USA, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Germany.

"Football (not soccer) in Japan" , posted Thu 30 May 05:34post reply

Has anyone seen the Japanese shitting it off the prospect of England fans coming over? The police are having special hooligan training, the citizens are being breifed that having a tattoo doesn't mean you're a memeber of the Yakuza and shops and inns are closing till the English get out. It's hilarious! One off-licence owner said (translated) "I always thought the English were gentlemen but now I've seen this I'm closing my shop till they leave!" They've even made a big digital sign saying "STOP THAT IMMEDIETLY" in case things get out of hand (oooh). Have you seen the Japanese footie fans? It's like a wholesome family day out for them. There was a clip of them politely waiting to cross the road in an orderly manner on their way to a game. Bloody hilarious!

Ha! Spain! Spain will do bad, as always, reaching the quarterfinals at most.

I'll be supporting them, because they have a great team, but the "tradition" of being bad won't be lost, I supose.
The top teams will be probably France, Argentina, Italy, Brazil, Camerun, and maybe England.

(NOTE: I secretly imagine Spain winning the world cup, but don't tell this to anybody)

Argentina is looking really good, I know that I should be cheering the US, but this years team isn't that great.

^_^ gotta love the VCR! I'm recording all the games.

BTW if you can't watch or hear the games you can see the live comments at soccernet.com

Wow! Thats a shocker! I would expected France to take this one. Say, where is Zidane anyways? Oh, and is that bald headed goatee guy still their goalie?

Zidane's injured, he might miss the next match as well, but is expected to be ready for the 3rd match (Vs. Denmark).

And yes, Barthez is still their goal keeper.

I've heard that they may force his recovery to have him ready for the 2nd match... France without Zidane looses so much...
