I was just over at IGN and noticed there is a new Harvest Moon game planned for release on GCN next year. I was intrigued by the first Harvest Moon game, but never played it (what system was it on, BTW?). In fact, I have never played any Harvest Moon game, and am surprised at how many titles have been in the series now. I just want to know if anyone here has played any of the games and can tell me how good they are? I think I would enjoy them...

I've never played Harvest Moon either, but I do know that it was released on the SNES. It was one of the later games on the system. It came out when just about everyone abandoned it for the PSX.

I remember playing Harvest Moon for months on SNES... There was also a GB version with different added features that weren't in the SNES one (gender for example), but I didn't play that one alot. I didn't play the "new"(old) Harvest Moon yet.
Why wait 'till the Full Moon? I want to howl now!

Try gameforms.com for information on the new Harvest Moon title.
I only played the SNES version, but it's a pretty cool game. You're primarily concerned with time, so every day is a race to go about your chores as efficiently as you can, and try and make the time to get into town and talk to girls, buy supplies, etc. There are enough mini-events like festivals or finding magical yard gnomes inside a hollow tree to keep things from getting to monotonous, and somehow the game gives a nice sense of accomplishment.
I'd check it out, it's a very mellow gaming experience. Nice break from fighters or action titles.
