There was nothing wrong with FFX's ending, you just didn't like it because...um...let's keep this light weight and just say because you're a spoony bard!

That had to be the funniest ending in FF history, simply because it was so SHORT!

And the disappointed look on my cousin's face(it was his PS2 and game)...PRICELESS.

Oh, and can we get a new male lead to replace spoony bard Tidus please?

Hey, if they're doing FFX sequels could we see sequels of other FF games? Perhaps a FF^ sequel on the GBA...(And is this a good idea, or a bad idea...Guess I have to wait till the game. One thing it is is an instant cash maker..).

Ok

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
Tidus turns out to be a dream, and in the end he vanishes, leaving Yuna alone and crying...

I guess people always want mushy happy endings, screw them, not everything must have a happy ending.
Personally I loved the ending, short but sweet!

Is Final Fantasy International coming out in the US?

Cool, Rikku is on one of 'em. I love Rikku (it's the name) I think when I have kids I'll name my daughter Rikku. Either that or Monet.

Whatever "drama" FFX tried to capture in its ending, other FFs did it better. The whole thing felt so abrupt when it ended that when the credits started rollin, I said, "this can't be it". It wasn't.

There was a VERY short scene of Tidus after the credit roll, then the logo. Boom. Fade out.

Sakaguchi needs to pass on the FF series to a new director, preferably the FF9 one, because he's lost his touch.

Dude, that ending

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
sucks....I don't like to play long games to find an ending like that....I want a happy ending if I waste all that time, darn it!

End of Spoiler

Geez, I didn't like FF7's ending either...I like all the others though.

No, the Spider-man ending was great, made perfect sense, and I know there are gonna be follow up movies, the ending of Spider-man wasn't FF7 -

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
The guy you've been playing as (Cloud) is really a clone....

End of Spoiler

FFX -

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
The guy you've been playing as (Tidus) doesn't exist...

End of Spoiler

Evangelion -

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
Everyone dies....

End of Spoiler

Bebop (which I still like) -

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
Spike dies.

Well, I think you like happy endings, I do like them as well, but I always prefer non happy endings, I think they help to create a surprise, people always want a happy ending, and when they get a sad one, they feel cheated, but I don't, I like the way non happy endings are handled

Some thoughts...

FF7-

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
I thought Cloud was real, not a clone of Sephiroth. He was fooled by Jenova and Sephiroth into thinking he was so he'd cooperate and give them the Black Materia.

End of Spoiler

Evangelion-

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
Everyone dies...except Shinji. That wuss. Ugh.

End of Spoiler

Bebop-

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
I didn't really like the end, and not because Spike died, but because the rest of the Bebop crew(save for Ed and Ein) didn't get any resolve. So Faye found out about her past, now what? What would become of her? And Jet...well, what is he going to do now? Fly solo again?

End of Spoiler

I don't like the "happily ever after" endings either. I'd much rather have the good guys get beat or have it come to a stalemate and make sequels of the same story then the good guys could win later. They gotta get their asses kicked some.

If the good guys win, they gotta win at a price. Someone has to die or something. If there's one thing I can't stand is things like the slow motion at the buzzer 3-point jump shot to win the game type of things where they make it and everyone is happy. To me it's just cheesy. That even goes for videogames.

true, and at first that bothered me, but it made sense. With Spike gone, it didn't matter anymore. I would've preferred he lived though.

oh, and again in FF7 -

It's not that I don't mind unhappy endings, but not endings like that when I've played a game for a long period of time to get an ending.

Sakaguchi wasn't the director, you know?

And I really liked the ending.
Since when are endings supposed to be happy and long to be good, anyway?

Well, this had been hinted at since FFX International. I'm glad it's finally coming to pass, since I think FFX is one of the best in the series (if not *the* best).

That said, I don't like this two game crap. Why two games? Why not one game on two discs or something, with each character gettin her own disc. I can't imagine two full-fledged games warrenting their own separate game. That just screams Square being greedy trying to sell me two games at full price instead of one. I'll wait and see how this developes, but I'm not as happy a camper as I should be. I want one game, not two.

FFX's ending was nigh perfect. A bit short, but to the point. It was not abrupt at all - that was FFVII's truncated ending. That said, I wouldn't mind if the sequel(s) make(s) the whole grand story end on a happier note. If there's any character who deserves some happiness, it's Yuna.

For an FMV ending it should've been longer. Makes me wonder why they couldn't do it in real-time, since it wasn't as graphics intensive.

And Sakaguchi was the director, wasn't he? After all, he had to leave FF9 in the hands of someone else while he was busy making this and the FF movie...

Actually, it was probably as short as it was *because* it was FMV. Those things aren't exactly small y'know.

> Makes me wonder why they couldn't do it in real-time, since it wasn't as graphics intensive.

The real time engine wouldn't have conveyed the emotionality of the situation anywhere near as good. I would have loved to have seen a non-FMV segment, extending the ending further, but that would have just been icing on the cake. The ending was superb (if rather depressing) as it was.

You got that right. The ending should've had him blow away all the other losers except Lulu, then those two get busy.

Sad and happy ending all rolled into one

Actually I saw most of FFX in a friend's house and I didn't liked the ending... because I really didn't cared about the characters, unless other games like Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Tales, FFT or FFIX, I just don't liked these characters, not my style I guess...

and about Cowboy Bebop...

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
Faye does resolve her past, she had the chance of know about it, but she choose to not. The same with Jet, his past issues were resolved way earlier in the series.

Um, that's true, but what Freet meant about CB was

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
that although that stuff is true, what happened to the crew after Spike left? What would become of Faye and Jet? Ed and Ein had already left... But I think that the point was that with Spike gone it just didn't matter about the rest of the crew anymore...
