I just saw the demo footage of it and I must say IMHO it looks like it's going to be the best Metal Gear yet...I wonder if they will make the Snake/Plant game an actual story.

FEAR THE GIANT SOLDIERS!

An interview with Hideo Kojima (One of my favorite developers!) on IGN.com and Gamespot.com he talked about alot of the details. You can skateboard in a suit. ^__^ you can play as the Ninja, you can play as Raiden dressed up like a Ninja. You can play the Tanker as Raiden (even though there's no story becuase he's not there) with the sword at the beginning. ^___^

But also said that you could play Snake's part of the Plant, going to do his thing and that there would be Five Snake Episodes to play through...

and then tons and tons of virtua missions. ^__^

Let me get this straight..Kojima made an entirely new quest for an unofficial "sequel"? Sounds too good to be true. Way too good to be true. I'm sure whatever it is, it doesn't even begin to compare to the level of detail put in the original MGS2.

Wise man he is.

Kojima: Ahhh, the Xbox, the graphics are probably a little better, but the systems are pretty much the same, the Xbox and the PS2. They're not that different. If I spent a lot of time creating a game specific for the Xbox, I could come up with something great. But I feel that they are basically the same, you know, memory wise, etc.
Kojima: We developed Sons of Liberty for the PlayStation 2. So to fit that hardware, and converting it to another system, for the Xbox, it's very difficult. And so when you test the game and use the Xbox controller, it's very huge...It's enormous compared to the PlayStation 2 controller.

Me? ^_^ I like them all really. I don't think any one system is better than the other as far as games go. However, as far as technical specifications, I'd say that if you denounced the Xbox it just means that your close minded.

I try not to trash any of the systems, I think if you close yourself up like that it's really sad actually. So, like I said in the DOA post, I try to remain objective. I really love the PS2 and It's a very impressive system, but I also know that it has limits, just like any other machine. So if a developer wanted to be the least limited as far as what he could do, right now he'd choose to program for the Xbox.

But nobody is picking on the PS2 or the Gamecube, So I don't have to defend those two machines. Instead everybody is very close minded about the Xbox. Lieing to themselves.

I don't own a gamecube, it doesn't have any games I want on it, but at the same time, I don't think that it's a bad system. It's got alot more power than the PS2 does after all, however, I also realize that the Xbox has alot more power than the gamecube...

What developers choose to do with that power really is up to them, but if Somebody says that the power doesn't exist I tihnk they're just being blind. ^_^

I was only teasing you, anyway. ^_^ I have to admit, I am a bit biased against the X-box, but that stems from a general dislike of Microsoft in combination with memories of previous American game systems ( Jaguar, mostly.. ugh. ) I can admit it, though. ^_^ As for DOA, I don't think its a bad series. I DO think that DOA Volleyball is trying to suck customers in through use of naughtiness. ^_^

Unless Kasumi shows up in a cameo role... ¬_¬ and then there's always Irene.

Ninja Gaiden, now with Fanservice! ^__^

Anyways, I might love my Dreamcast like a child! Though, I guess that means I have to admit that my child is slower than all the other kids now. ~_~

I was hoping they create an "alternate storyline" and have it as if Snake was going through the Plant by himself...that would be cool...because I played the Raiden game so many times I even remember most of the lines...

Yeah, it sounds like you can play as Snake in the plant with his Iriquis Pliskin look, but I don't think he meant you play the actual part. Not to mention I don't believe they called David Hayter back to record new stuff for the game since he's been hard at work on X-Men 2.

Will this include the theater mode from Japanese MGS2? I think I asked before but I forgot to check for an answer.

We created a lot of noise onto something that was very beautiful. Doing that on the Xbox doesn't really work that well. "

I KNEW it! I always knew the xbox's graphics where high powered crap. Ever since day one I've been complaining that the xbox's graphics have a kind of overcrisp PC look to them and everyone just replies "OMFG lamer Xbox is mindblowing power OMFG JIZZ."

Thank you Mr. Kojima for confirming that the xbox is uncapable of presenting soft, natural looking graphics.

That would be such a BIG cop-out if it was Raiden with the Pliskin model. I know I'd easily change my opinion of the game to "craptastic" in a heartbeat.

The Vamp battle screenshot might be evidence of this possibility though...I hope this won't be the case.

As for Hayter, he could've been paid to return for more voicework. It's not like he's directing X-Men 2.

Nah I see it as the movie industry does with DVD movies...I just think this is the "Special Edition" of the same product...you know how they go:

"Buy this movie because it kicks ass!"

then

"Buy the 'complete' version of the movie with all of these extras! Double kick ass!"

You know when Lucas puts the Star Wars movies on DVD it's first going to be:

"The Starwars DVD collection buy Episode 1-6 collection may the force be your wallet and shopping impulse"

Then like a month later...

"The NEW Starwars DVD collection you get Episode 1-6, a poster, a free starwars figure, a model life size lightsaber, a tube of toothpaste and a yoda plush toy"

Not really... The actual bomb disarment is supposed to take place in the Plant, not on the Tanker.

In the IGN interview Kojima said Hayter and Raiden's VA would be returning to do some voice work... this game has been in planning for a while (since MGS2 ended production) so I'm sure they called David up and asked him to come do some more lines...

I'm wondering how they're going to do it... even if Snake and Raiden just traded lines, they need to bring back other VA's to record new reactions... Rose would need to be completely redone for Snake (maybe there's a God and for Snake they'll use Mei-Ling again?)

No more scifi crap like part 3. The whole Bionoid deal was utterly ridiculous and pointless.

As long as it can maintain the spirit of the first two NES games(I disregard the third and all other incarnations), that's all I want.

A new Jaquio wouldn't hurt either...
