GGXX is out now. I haven't had much time to play, but here's some lowdown on it. Some are confirmed by myself, others are general reports I've heard.
Blue Roman Cancel In addition to the normal Roman cancel, there's also a "Blue" roman cancel now. It can only cancel a few moves (I've heard only one move per character), but it consumes only 25% of the power bar.
It's executed by pressing 3 buttons immediately after the move. (ie: Baiken can Blue Roman cancel her Tatami Gaeshi by doing >
Last Boss I'm sure that everyone is wondering who the last boss is. So far it seems to be just an EX-Version of I-No. I'm hoping that there's a real boss after her (can't beat her yet- her super is evil), but people report that they haven't seen one yet.
The battle takes place on the clouds above the sky, and the EX I-No talks more dirty and roughly than her usual self. She seems pretty much like her usual self, except for the one awful move they gave to her: a super which consists of a series of beams.
It drains a lot of energy (or power meter on a faultless defence). It's obvious when she's about to execute it since she takes a long time to bring out her wings and shoot out the attack, but she has a super-armor on, and she can't be damaged nor stopped while she's about to execute it.
If I hear anything about an extra boss, I'll write about it.
Endings I haven't seen any, but I hear that they're one-frame pictures again.
New Characters
I-No Her dash is like Morrigan's, except this game plays much faster than.. say, CvS2. So she's pretty tricky since it's easy to fake out low and high attacks. She's pretty easy to use, and pretty strong.
She has a projecticle which height can be controlled a bit, an attack that goes across the whole screen, and a super which has pretty good invincibility. Her Instant kill has very short range- she spreads out her hands and if it hits, the opponent is thrusted onto a stage, getting hit between two speakers (they look like ghosts) while I-No plays her guitar in front of them.
Zappa Zappa is cool! There's four types of ghosts which comes out to assist him- a dog, a set of three ghosts, a sword, and "Ra-ou". One of them appear randomly when Zappa either gets hit, or does a certain attack. Ra-oh is a bit special- he only appears after Zappa collects a number of souls. (Souls accumulate on Zappa somewhat randomly during the fight as well, when he attacks the opponent. There's no apparent use for the souls except to summon Ra-oh. And yes, Ra-oh is strong.)
The dog is cute. It attacks on its own by pressing a direction and the button. The ghosts can be shot out like projectiles, and I think they give zappa more reach in his attacks. The sword's attacks are strong, but they leave Zappa more opened. They look a bit like Donovan's attacks. And last but not least, Ra-oh is huge, and he can shoot out a pretty useful multi-hitting projectile. He also makes an extra special available, where he shoots hout a huge bolt of electricity in front.
Zappa's Instant kill is a throw. When it connects, the screen goes blank except for a tree, and then the whole screen gets filled with one huge eyeball.
Bridget Bridget is interesting. He can lay his Yoyo on the screen with a direction + . From there, he can call back the Yoyo or turn it into a deadly bear. Either way, they both hurt the opponent. He has a very strong super called "Me and the Killing Machine", where he can pull back the Yoyo as a bear on a bycicle, surrounded by a circle of flames. It hits multiple times, and likewise to all other of Bridget's yoyo attacks, he can move around and attack while it's still hitting.
Bridget hits the opponent into the moon in his Instant Kill. If you think that sounds weird, wait til' you actually see the actual game, as the opponent ends up dangling with their head popped into the surface of the moon in the middle of the screen.
Slayer I think Slayer is the weakest of the four new characters, but I might be talking too early. Mr.Shocking Alberto wannabe is basically a boxer character who has Demitri's(darkstalker) invincible dash. There isn't much to talk about him since most of his moves are just plain punches.
Slayer reads a really meaningless Haiku (selected randomly) when his Instant kill hits. (It's not really a Haiku but a Senryu, since it has no seasonal term in it). The instant kill comes from a shoulder tackle that goes across the screen- pretty fast in my opinion.
Old characters Johnny I'm a Johnny user, and I was practicing him in GGX yesterday. I played him today in GGXX, and he feels miserable. His Jump sucks now, and his low Mist Finer (slash attack) with zero coins isn't evne fast enough to connect from a either. Since he has a new aerial attack, I'm assuming that he's supposed to be played a bit differently than before...
Sol Strong as hell in my opinion. Stronger than GGX, at least.
Faust People are saying that he's extremely strong due to his new which has a really long reach, but I'm not sure myself. His head-bomb has potential, and he can grow a flower on the ground when he's on his knife now. Pretty cute, imo.
Millia IS she weaker now? I think. Not many people were using her, and I wasn't having troubles beating her like in GGX either. Her lust shaker can now be done with as well as rapid , and it seems to do good damage. The move looks sexier than before too.
ETC. 1- Some attacks leave the opponent off-balance when hit. The opponent is open to attacks during that time, but can recover by twisting the stick.
2- Hold All five buttons when entering the game, and the score mode goes on like in GGX, I heard. Haven't confirmed it myself.
3- Again like in GGX, there's a password setting on the DIP menu.
4- The CPU does Instant Kills? I havne't confirmed it, but Baiken activated her setup while I was going aginst her on 1P mode.
I stained my hand with your butt!

A few more notes on GGXX.
1- Ex I-NO's super move where she shoots a series of beams in front of her, apparently takes her no power meter to execute. Two other amazing things about is that, it takes her no meter power to execute it, and she doesn't get damaged at all while in her preparation hyper-armor motion. The beam can't be escaped by going to he rback: it actually gets even worse since it shoots out to multiple directions.
2- The game seems unbalanced. Then again, that goes with any game.
3- People were complaining that Zappa is weak during the beta tests, but so far I'm quite enjoying him. His doggie is pretty cute, and it's controlled like Deevo's Stand (Jojo game).
4- I forgot to mention the "Burst" attack in the game. The burst attack can be done at any time as long as the burst meter is full, but it has a different property depending on the condition that it's executed. I'm not sure of all the conditions, but in example.. if it's executed when in the middle of being attacked, it'll act as a combo breaker. But if it hits the enemy in a normal situation, it'll act as a power meter filler.
5- The power meter does not get carried over to the next round like during the beta testing. Same goes for the Tention meter and Burst meter.
6- I-No has a nipple revealing victory pose? Consider it a rumor for now, I'll try to confirm it tomorrow.
7- The limit of Slayer's chain combo is amazing-- he can almost do none. But his normal sepcials do amazing damage.
I stained my hand with your butt!

Cool news Prof. I can't wait to hear more about you guys playing it because I won't until it's on the PS2 or other consoles.

Two arcades near my place got the game, so i'll add what i've seen

Have you found a way to dodge this yet out side of triple jumping? even when i crouch in the unmarked areas she does insane tick damage.

Testament gets my vote for the most changed and the cheeziest character. with his new net attacks and weird plant thing, it's a real pain to attack him. i've seen a lot of testament turtles over here. Anji and Sol are still really good, while millia and johnny players are starting to switch

3- People were complaining that Zappa is weak during the beta tests, but so far I'm quite enjoying him. His doggie is pretty cute, and it's controlled like Deevo's Stand (Jojo game).
Zappa is great! he talks up a storm in combat. Some of his lines are great. imagine a world class wimp getting losing control of his body. but not his eyes or mouth.

7- The limit of Slayer's chain combo is amazing-- he can almost do none. But his normal sepcials do amazing damage.
the arcadia mag is limited to about a 4 hit combo. it's pretty sad. playing him feels more like an old school fighter with lots of two in ones
