Hey guys!

Just wondering if any of you know the official release date for the Dreamcast version of Treasure's superb Ikaruga. I've been playing it a lot at the arcades recently and really want to take it home.

I hear that it might be May 30th, but I leave Hong Kong on the 5th June, meaning the Mong Kok pirates have only six days to dupe me a copy! Argh!

I took my dog to the vet the other day. He picked him up and had a look at him. "Oh dear" he said "I'm going to have to put him down..." "But why!?!" I cried. "Because he's too heavy."
Boom-boom! Crap no?

I heard it is really up in the air now... if Ikaruga will be released at all for the home. From what I understand, Treasure of Japan made a public statement after ncsx.com posted about taking pre-orders for Ikaruga DC. Treasure's statement said that there were no current plans to port Ikaruga to the Dreamcast or any other home system. Then, there wasn't any word on it after that. This was probably... about 2-3 months ago.

Behold, what it says on the description of Ikaruga in the ncsx.com shop section...

Preorders for the Japanese Dreamcast game Ikaruga should ship on May 30, 2002. Please note, due to refutations and other conflicting reports from Treasure about their "undecided" stance on Ikaruga, NCS will update our customers accordingly if the shipping date for Ikaruga requires shifting to June or July.

I haven't kept up on the news of that game recently, but that's basically what was going on. My friends and I placed pre-orders with NCSX on that game, and he received that unfortunate news shortly after. Keep your fingers crossed... hopefully Treasure will have a change of heart and release Ikaruga for DC soon enough.
