Square just said that they _might_ make a sequel to Final Fantasy X if players want to them to. Hence the short movie on the bonus DVD of Final Fantasy X International.
They never said they would _definitely_ do it, and they never said it would be "Final Fantasy XII". As a matter of fact, they announced quite some time ago that the main development team of Final Fantasy XII has little in common with the Final Fantasy X staff.
As for the first post, I don't know... It seems weird that Minazuki said nothing about it yet (it's one week-old).
But it kinda makes sense (even if I'm a bit troubled by the "kami ni yotte" part, for example?) and it wouldn't be surprising to hear something about the game now that Final Fantasy XI is released...

Also, I don't think any Final Fantasy game with a number will be a sequel to any other of the Final Fantasy games of that type. I could see a sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics or something, but not to, say, FFX, or a sequel to FFVI. Each game has all new characters and stuff....BTW, I have friends complaining about Biohazard switching systems, I could say the same thing about FF, but as long as it's good. I mean, I just bought a PSX so I could keep up with it (I doubt I'll get a PS2 though). Besides, the RE remake is good, I like it a lot.
