I think that this art, as cool as it looks, is from the pocket game "Cardfighters Clash" due to the "Expand Edition" logo.

Exactly... The logo states "SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters 2 Expand Edition"

Although I love Ryo's new color scheme in that pic. (Wasn't that from Buriki-One? I've never seen the actual game, so...)

Yup, in this GREAT card game, there are 20 card made by both company artist. No Edayan or Shinkiro, bu these two pics from Hideaki are great. The others (Senri or Daichan) are ugly compared to the normal card art.
The wallpapers where all 20 released at the end of SNK's site, with the great picture with everyone on it.

I hope boring ol' Ryu won't be in it either, but the chances of that happening are slim to none, and slim just went on summer vacation...

That artwork is freakin' awesome! Look at Ryo! He....he actually looks cool (okay, so his Shinkirou CvS2 artwork is pretty good to, as is his KoF2000 artwork). If SvC was made, and all of the characters had completely new looks like these, I'd just leap on it...

Edit: I meant to say KoF 2000, not KoF 2001.

Woah, best young Geese ever...And that Ryo is awesome...:P

And as much as I may not care for some of the main characters, a SvC/CvS game wouldn't be the same if they didn't have Ryo/Ryu/Ken/Yuri/Terry in it. They're memorable SNK and Capcom characters, and they need to be in the games.

Of course I'd like to see some intresting choices after then (Ramon and Zaki in SvC Playmore...)

Well, if loser clown actors get to be paid a lot of money, has his own film called The Scorpion King (while getting intimate with his on-screen female lead), seriously speaking I don't mind being one!

I dont think Triple H was around in the early 90's was he? Fatal Fury 1? (i bet triple h at that time was a kid secretly attracted to hogan, and then he decided he wanted to be an actor that wrestles big sweaty men.)
True Muscle Power was ripped off from Hogan, but if you notice in part 2 they removed the mustache because wwf didnt like that. According to ADK's storyline he removed the mustache because he resembled an "inferior" wrestler.

Welp yes wrestling clowns earn a lot of money. Its kinda like AOL, they lure all the "special" people.

Am I being insulted, cause I really like wrestling. But on a side note, I'd like to say that he wasn't saying Geese looked like HHH, he was saying that particular pic of Geese did, which, as I stated, I don't think it does at all. HHH has a huge nose and a much bigger face and facial hair. Anyway, I like wrestling, so there. Of course, I don't like it so much anymore, and my favorite wrestler isn't even wrestling anymore....

Actually wrestlers don't make really make super good money, as most WWE guys end up in the 6 figure mark for the most part (with only the really big names making a million a year). Compare that to baseball when the avg schmoe in the bigs makes a million even if he can't play good ball...

Hahaha...No you are not insulted! You are right, initially I though that pic of Geese does look a bit like Triple H minus the facial hair, but on second looks it doesn't.

Well WWE seems to be going downhill anyway. I used to be a big fan during the Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels era. Nowadays they don't just dish out the good matches like they used to. The upcoming judgement Day has smiliar matches to BackLash, and old matches like Triple H vs Y2J. Urgh....

Ah, we've talked about wrestling at my message board. And I know you used Angle, Stone Cold, and DDP's catch phrases. Hall is good, but isn't my fav. I meant someone who hasn't wrestled in a few years, since WCW was bought out, and that is Sting. I think it's dumb that Hall and Mr. Perfect both have been released from WWE and Vince is gonna screw things up again if he keeps it up.

... argh, they create new characters with Karate attire (which they're supposed to wear. do you think Ryo or Yuri, both devoted children of Takuma and to Karate, would come to a tournament wearing their street clothes?) and similar moves and it's suddenly ripped off? come on, people, Karate isn't a martial art reserved just for Ryu and Ken. i'm surprised you people don't think that Adon, King (AoF), or Joe are Sagat ripoffs. hey, they all use Muay Thai, all the guys wear the same shorts, and Joe and Adon laugh just as much as Sagat. wouldn't they be ripoffs too? oh wait. nevermind. no one's bald like Sagat. sorta like the blond Ryo deal of him looking like Ken. yea, only a few people out there are blond. it's not like it's a common hair color or anything

Of course, how many people wear karate gi's that are ripped up at the shoulders? And why did Ryo's gi have to be red? They could have at least chosen a color that would somewhat prevent Ryo from looking like Ken's twin....

I have to admit... way back, when AOF first came out, I did a double take when I first saw Ryo, just to " make sure " he wasn't somebody else... But I've actually never thought his moves were especially similar. Even if koho looks like a bit like shoryuken, it works a little differently. And he's always had a goodly number of other moves to set him apart.

No, I am not color blind. You should keep your little snide remarks to yourself....pal.

Anyways, as I've said before I'm certainly NOT the only one that has mistaken him for Ken. If Ryo's creators (notice I said "Ryo's creators" and not "SNK"...there's a difference) wanted him to truly stand out (and not be labeled a ripoff), there are so many different things that they could have done with him. But they had to choose a color that was close to red. They HAD to. It's not even orange enough to be considered...orange. It's THAT close to being red. And as far as I'm concerned, it is red.

I doubt Ryo's creators intended to make a pure Ken ripoff. I mean, look at the anime. They didn't even know Ryo was actually blond because the game's sprite didn't make it out so clearly(he appears to have reddish streaks in his hair).

Why is it so offensive or special that the character resembles Ryu or the typical karate hero? You know that everyone and their dogs have done this on their fighting games, like Tekken for example. Kazuya looked more like a topless Ryu and Paul like the love child of Ken and Guile, but just like Ryo, they eventually developed their own style and personality.

This just doesnt compute.

Lets see...If:

Ryo/Robert = Ryo/Ken/Dan (same styles)
Lee = Vega (the Spanish ninja) (wears a mask and has claws)
Takuma = Akuma (all masters of their arts and ends with kuma)
Mr Big = Eagle (carries 2 sticks)
Jack = Zangief (big-sized freaks)
Yuri = Chun-Li (the cute females in the games)
John = Guile (military men)
Mickey = Barlog (Boxers)

yup....they are from the same creators alright...

Lets see World Heroes:
Hanzou = Ryu
Fuuma = Ken
Muscle power = Zangief
Jenghis Khan = E Honda
Broken = Dhalsim
Janne = Chun-Li

Are they from the same creators? You decide.

Actually,I've read this before, too, only it was only the character designer who was the same. He had apparently quit back during the " Capcom purge ", and was hired by SNK. I'm looking for the article now... although I shouldn't be. -_-

While both Lee and Balrog have claws, I can't see too many similarities beyond that. Besides, their claws are different..
Takuma = Akuma... ( the pain! My brain hurts! Can't speak...or..type...at a reasonable rate..)
Mr Big.... not...like...Eagle....Eagle...stole.... some of Big's moves...for Capcom vs. SNK 2...
Jack... NOTHING...like... Zangief....
Yuri... is...nothing...like...Chun Li...
John... not like... Guile...
Mickey.. plays... nothing... like... Mike Bison...

Jack = Zangief (big-sized freaks)

Yes, but Jack has a motor gang and the evil hard rock lover Mai S... in his gang, while Zangief has only a datcha surrounded by bears.

Lets see World Heroes:
Jenghis Khan = E Honda
Janne = Chun-Li

It's obvious for Fûma, Hanzô and Dahlsim, but theses are much more doubtfull... Dragon has (kinda) Honda's super moove, and was ripped off shamelessly to do Fei Long after.
Jeanne is not fat.

Whatever.

I see light hearted conversation is lost on you so I won't ever bother with it again.

Aside from AOF III and a couple of victory portraits and illustrations, Ryo's gi has always been orange.

Hmmm...Looks orange to me.

Terry's jacket; now that's red!

At any rate, I've said all I'll say for this subject. I apologize if I affended you.

Light hearted conversation ends when accusations ("you must be color blind" for example) begins.

I'm in agreement here. There's nothing more that needs to be said on the subject. I'm cool if you're cool.
