Does anyone know whether a US console will work on a PAL TV? Thanks
Y'know what I mean?

Hmmm, I'm not too sure about that; maybe it depends on what console you're using?
But since most TVs these days support multi system frequencies (NTSC/Pal/Secam) you shouldn't have any problems.

if you have a multinorm TV, yes it will, if you haven't, not.

There are places you can send your U.S. console to get it modified so it will work... but I can't remember any off hand.

I always wonder why Europe has a different "electronic" system, the PAL. I love NTSC!
Hope you get your problem fixed,Nifty Lifty!

I don't think so...the adapters might short out due to different power outlets.
I'd suggest stickin to arcades and handhelds for traveling abroad.

Oh yeah that's right. Be careful of different voltage values in different countries.
IIRC the US uses 120V, whereas some countries use 240V for their power supply outlets? You can buy a step down power adaptor to fix this problem though.

Yes, as long as the TV is less than about 5 or 6 years old. You'll probably need to buy an RGB Scart lead, to connect to the TV, widely available in Europe.
You'll also need a 100/120 (we'll say 110) Volt to 220 Volt transformer, so the console doesn't blow up.

Thanks guys. The reason I ask is that I live in England and was thinking of buying an american PS2 off this dude. Cheers for your help, but my TV is about 10 years old and crap so I doubt it'll work.
Y'know what I mean?

Get it and a new TV if it's a good PS2 deal. Don't buy a European PS2. Very few PAL PS2 games have a full speed mode. Unlike Dreamcast games, which have. Hurrah for SEGA! Again!
