Ok, I'm writing this because I can. If you think any of this may spoil something for you (It has to do with what's going on in New X-men) then don't read it. If you disagree with me, fine, if you agree with me fine, but I have to rant cause I just got the latest Wizard and since I don't read New X-men (because I hate the story and think the art sucks, it's not like comic art should be and makes Jean look ugly) I just found out that what I thought was going on in it IS going on, and it pisses me off, because some new writer has managed to screw up my favorites Marvel characters, thus making me a very angry man. For the record, I don't consider anything happening in New X-men to have really happened in the X-world, because that's how much I hate it. And I don't think the Beast should be drawn like a feline, it's stupid. Ok, on with what I found out in Wizard....

In this wonderful interview with the new writer, it's revealed that the great (that's sarcastic) love triangle between Scott/Jean/Logan has been brought back sortof, and in addition, they threw Emma into the mix. Great, So now they have this four way thing going on. I hoped that with the Scott/Jean marriage I'd never have to see any more Scott/Jean/Logan stuff, but I guess I was wrong. This guy is now screwing with my favorite comic book marriage...screw him. It said something about the X-men having inner tension now and being against each other and that sucks too. I mean, come on, these guys have been through so much crap and SHOULD be more mature, but apparantly not. At least Uncanny and Xtreme is still good. If I could talk to the new writer, I'd say that he has turned me off to my favorite members of the X-men (Scott and Jean) and that he may have alienated other fans of the comics before he started writing. I can't believe someone would do this. Oh, at least one good thing happened today as far as X-men goes, this may be a spoiler by the way....

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
I picked up the new Uncanny today, and Banshee is still alive! Yay! They didn't kill off another X-man, though he won't have his power for a while now prob. (Mystique stabbed him through the throat, from the back to the front...he probably actually should be dead....I'm glad he isn't).

End of Spoiler

I'm against the changes, too. Chris Claremont (my favorite X-writer) should be back to the main X-Titles, in my opinion...

I'm all for the changes, myself. It's spicing up a franchise that has been stagnant for about three years now, and I like the harder edge Morrison puts to his stories...

And as much as enjoyed Claremont's early 80's stuff, his last run on Uncanny was rather dissapointing. In fact I didn't like it all.

All IMHO, of course

I assume this is a spoiler thread? Well, just in case, I guess.

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
Even though it was probably a while ago, I heard that Psylocke died a very pointless unclimactic death Oo

You're correct, she did.

Oh, and I also read that in New X-men all the X-men are undergoing (or are going to undergo) second Mutations (which is dumb in my opinion). Bah, I like Claremont's last run. The New X-men isn't a comic book anymore, and that is why I don't like it. The changes aren't for the better, not to me, and I have been an X-fan for a very long time, and I've even read most of the original X-men comics....

Gambit isn't gonna be in X-Men 2. Nightcrawler is gonna be in it though.

So far, I have only seen the first 3 parts (plus the annual and the Nuff said issue).

I really like them. Grant Morrison is shaking things up quite well (once again, as far as I have read) I feel his work on New X-men is even better than what he did on JLA (wich I liked as well).

I liked the last Claremont X-Men run too, and he proved to be a great writer in X-Treme. And his run in Fantastic Four was just awesome, the entire "Reed as Doom" saga was just breathtaking, and the introduction of Valeria Von Doom was cool, too.

Rid, could you clarify the whole Valeria Von Doom thing? Who the heck is she?

Since I haven't had the money, I haven't been reading X-men much lately. But I'm starting to get a little frightened. Hopefully, we're not going to see the X-men books go the way of the Spider-Man books during the Clone saga...

Heh, at least Iron Man is getting good. Poor Pepper. Hey! Am I the only Iron Man reader here?

What was the exact quote? A lot of people are talking about it at the Warren Ellis Forum and I still don't know what he said.

"Valeria explained" , posted Wed 1 May 15:28post reply

Valeria is the daughter of Sue Storm and Victor Von Doom in a possible future where Reed died and Victor became the leader of the FF. She accidentaly chronodanced to the present, it seems. Later Reed became Von Doom for a saga and married Sue, so that opened a few interesting possibilities, but Marvel relocated Claremont again (ugh...) and everything was forgotten. She has the ability of supress the powers of his older brother (well, he's younger than her now) and the abilities of Sue plus a small armor that improves her strenght. Plus, she's sexy :P

And she's officially a mutant, btw.

And, for anyone who didn't know, so is her brother, Franklin Richards...

What do you mean by suppress? Like, she fully negates anything that Franky can throw out? Yes, the Reed as Von Doom arc is interesting in that Valeria can still be sired by the Reed and Sue union.

Since she appeared Franklin's powers stopped to manifest. The same happened in her future.

You know, Madureira is well known for his "inspired" "original" characters, but I still like the guy, and he's still one of my favorite comic book artists. That Valeria pic is a good example of why.

Actually that wasn't Madureira, that was Salvador Larroca.

Yeah... but while I consider Salva an awesome artist, I found Madureira's drawings to be more elaborate and clear...
