'98: SNK, in addition to their complete creative bankruptcy in not being able to think up a decent story for this game, made the incredible blunder of making this a "dream match", effectively marginalizing the Sports Team, New Face Team, Mature, Vice, Billy, and Ryuji. Thus protecting the inviolable sanctity of The Story and guaranteeing that not only will NEVER see any of them again, but Eolith/Playmore/what-freaking-ever will have free reign to mindlessly toss out some of the most unique KOF competitors ever by the trainload, simply because they don't fit into The Story. (Lessee, Kula's already out...what are the odds that K9999 or Maxima will make it to '02?)
NeoFreak - Sez you. And what about those Koreans, hmm? Since when is "lameness" grounds for tossing anyone?

Kula's out of what? 02? how do you know? And I agree with NeoFreak, the "sports" team WAS lame, and besides I always thought the Garou Densetsu Team should be the american team anyway (yeah, so Joe isn't American, but their game takes place in Southtown, USA...). The only characters I wish were around that aren't are Mature, Vice, Billy, Geese, Krauser, and Shermie. Killing off Mature and Vice was stupid, and we all know Geese isn't dead (Mwa ha ha ha ha ha!). I do think 98 should've had a story. It is a good game, but I don't like the dreammatch story. because of it, basically I assume the KoF EX neoblood is the true 98 (it does take place inbetween 97 and 99, correct?). So anyway, that's my take on it. As for where the USA Sports team is, they are all doing what they do, playing sports...
