Personally,I think this is one of Capcom's coolest characters. I like pirate-type characters(Ruby Heart,Tron Bonne,May,Johnny,B.Jenet,e.t.c.) so long as they aren't heavily stereotyped.
I know she was meant as only as v.s. character, but I hope one day Capcom will use her again. I think she'd have the potential for some good fanservice, too.
And they can expand her storyline, and also bother giving a profile to where she's from, she might be French, given the nature and names of some of her moves.
What do you guys say?

I'd think to expand her nature would be a very good thing because basically all we know is that shes a pirate 0_o. I'd think that capcom would use her again she was on the arcade cabinet and is the first charcter to be shown in the intro for marvel vs capcom 2 so I'd assume capcom may have more plans for her.

Ruby Heart was cool, if she should show up again I would be happy, but if her only appearence was MvC2 I'm not going to curl up and die.

Mmmhh... Abyss got the erosion armor and he's causing the earth a great injury, that's why Ruby Heart gathered Capcom and Marvel heroes (and villians) to stop Abyss... My belief is that Ruby Heart contacted Cable (due to his thelepatic power and time travel ability), and then Cable gathered the Marvel heroes while Ruby Heart was gathering the Capcom ones...
Another hint for Ruby Heart for being the main Char on the Capcom side, is that at the end, she throws the erosion armor, and everyone is in her ship.
Yea, most people forget that MvC2 DOES have an actual ending which indicates there is a story to it, and you can tell by paying attention to the pictures that Ruby Heart is the main character of what little story there is :P Well, her and Cable :P They're the ones that started the MvC2 tournament.

Cool character, but... Did you know that in her first designs she had a hook for her left hand and a wood leg... Talk about stereotypes...
And for speaking french, I think it's due to the fact she may be a corsaire (which is different from a pirate) which were french in the beginning...

quote: I always thought that Ruby Heart had some connection with the pirate from Powerstone... hmm...
Anyways, MvC2 had a story? What a load of baloney. It was a dream match.. nothing more.. though Capcom's reason for putting in Ruby and Amingo baffles me...
Just because it's a dream match doesn't mean the dream doesn't have a story. It's just that usually the story is a crappy or simplistic one because Capcom/SNK doesn't feel a need to give it a decent story since... why bother when it's not going to be part of the official canon, anyways?
For example, Match of the Millenium SNK vs Capcom for Neo Geo Pocket is a dream match, but it has a storyline. M. Bison and Geese teamed up to have a tournament to find fighters for them to clone and draw power from. The game comes complete with boss dialogues and endings and everything
SNK Gals Fighter is a dream match, but it has a storyline. The mysterious Miss X (who by the way is the best female character I've ever seen in ANY video game) holds a tournament for a bunch of girls proclaiming that the winner will get a talisman that will grant whatever one desires.
X-Men vs Street Fighter had a storyline. Complete with endings for each character. It's the fight against Apocalypse. Marvel vs Capcom had endings and a storyline of the fight against Onslaught, albeit the endings were really messed up, there >:P
Capcom vs SNK and Capcom vs SNK 2 have storylines. One day Ken and Ryo decided to sponsor a tournament but evil things are afoot!!!!
And Marvel VS Capcom 2's storyline is that Ruby Heart (a trans-dimensional travelling pirate) and Cable gathered together a bunch of heros to take down Abyss. The game DOES have an actual ending, after all... even if it's just one and it's a bunch of pictures, it should be obvious from looking at them that something's going on. Ruby Heart finally ends up throwing the abyss orb into the ocean or something like that.
Are they GOOD stories or should anyone bother caring about them? Probably not (though some of them are exceptionally funny). But you can't deny that they actually exist :P

not just you dude, she looks A LOT like Carmen Sandiego
Gasp! I thought I was the only one that noticed this!
I love, love, LOVE Ruby Heart, and I beg with all my might that she will be in another game sometime soon. Her and her pirate crew, they looked cool too.
I liked that win pose of her and her pirate crew.
Now that I think about it, she does look Carmen San Diego. Geez and I remember that there was a cartoon and a game show about Carmen.
Anyway, Ruby was a pretty spiffy character. Makes me wonder if Capcom will put her in another game, like the Gem Fighters sequel perhaps?
