Seamus Blackley, the co-creator of Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox video game console and widely seen as the project's father, has resigned from Microsoft, Microsoft and a Blackley spokeswoman said on Monday.
The news comes just days after Microsoft said it would miss its fiscal year-end sales target for the Xbox by as much as 40 percent, a shortfall it blamed on weak sales. Those weak sales led to deep price cut in Europe and Australia last week.

Yeah, in Denmark the Xbox has already been retracted from the shelves of a popular electronics franchise. Simply 'cause they lost money after M$ lowered the prices.
Oooh, lordy... and now with the recent GCN pricefall, they don't stand a chance in Europe.

Not suprising, but then again we all know that it is a very difficult market to enter, and Microsoft is finding this out the hard way.

Yup, he's taking the fall for the company...
But then Microsoft is partly to balme, as they haven't produced alot of good international software for people to pick up.

Don't count the big M out yet. Remember, Playstation 2 had a craptastic launch with very few decent titles and hardware problems of their own but in 6-8 months we had the great Fall to X-Mas of 2001. Give it some time for better games to come out, only reason Playstation 2 flew off the shelves was the name alone, not because of great software launch titles.

Actually he stepped out to join in a company thats going to make games for the Xbox. According to the interviews with him. It was his decision. I think that MS and the Xbox is doing fine. It's an uphill battle, but they've got the money to wage it. we'll see.
