I haven't seen it. But Ebert and Roeper gave it two thumbs down.

It was good. I don't ever trust critics. I liked the Mummy movies better though, this movie is very different. It could've taken itself more seriously too, I thought, but other than that it was good. And Vince McMahon shouldn't have been the executive producer, that's just stupid.

Ebert and Roeper are full of crap. The whole "two thumbs" gimmick died with Siskel.

And Kelly Hu is finer than Rachel Weisz. Definitely gotta check it out for her, even if it means puttin up with the Rock's bad acting *shudder*

I just saw it a couple hours ago... and it's not bad, but it's definitely not great. Pretty much just a cliche' action movie... but it's PG-13 so don't expect it to hold a candle to the Conan the Barbarian movies. As for Kelly Hu... she's hot, but if you live in Hawaii, girls like her are pretty common.
Did anyone else notice a big loophole at the end of the movie? I'm talking about...

Spoiler (Highlight to view) -
When the two guys set of the gunpowder, they're directly in the center of the explosion... but then a couple scenes later they're outside with not a single scratch on them.

End of Spoiler

Actually I find Ebert's newspaper reviews to be very well done and enjoyable. I may not agree with all of them, but they're at least well written and present his side in a good fashion (That comes of much clearer than the TV show). His paper review of the Scorpion King is much more postive than the TV show one...

I dunno if i'm going to check this out, though. Looks a bit to dervitive of Conan and other films of the ilk (Heck the trailer even stole Conan's music...:P). It also feels a bit too much like The Mummy 2, which I didn't enjoy nearly as much as The Mummy. I think I'll pass and go see Fraility (Cause if Sam Raimi and Stephen King like, then it must be a smokin thriller...:)

Same here, Ebert is my hero when it comes to film critique.

If every critic gave it a negative review, it should mean something. ScorpionKing was the obvious crap movie this year, and my prediction was right. I wouldn't see the movie if you pay me to.

On the opening day of ScorpionKing, last Friday, I went and see Frailty instead since it's one of the two best rated film (the other is Changing Lanes) this few months. And Frailty is something you don't want to miss... It's one of those suspense movie that comes on every few years or so. I didn't read Ebert's review on Frailty before watching the movie, but I read it afterward and he gave it four stars anyway.

Kelly Hu. You know, that sexy gal from TV's Martial Law (the ill-fated Sammo Hung martial arts/cop show. damn Arsenio! you ruined the whole show!), who happens to be the cover gal of this month's (May issue) Maxim...

Maxim pictorial

And about Scorpion King, although I do like the Rock, I probably won't catch SK at the theaters. It's definitely a "rental/watch it on cable" movie for me. (As bad as SK might sound, it can't be as bad as "Kull the Conqueror", starring Kevin Sorbo...)

Oh snap! I didn't know she was in that show also. I actually thought it was okay.

As for the movie, my brother saw it and he told me that you should watch only for Kelly. That's about it. There's not much else to be excited over.

According to her website, there's no mentioning of a husband or boyfriend.

Side notes - Oh snap! I didn't know she was also in Surf Ninjas! That movie was hilarious. Rob Schnider was really funny in that movie.

I also didn't know that she won Miss Teen USA in 1984. Maybe because I was very, very young at the time.
