Well, the countdown is on. 78 days until I'm off to the exciting city of London,England. I'm pumped! Can't wait.

Well, anyway. The reason I'm asking is basically for information. If anyone here is from there:

1. What's the best hangouts?
2. Where's the best arcades?(I know the wicked SegaWorld in Picadilly Circus already).
3. Tons of restaurants. Which one is the best?

And any other info will help. I've gotten all the basic info(how to take the tube, how much buses and pay phones cost, about getting mugged, how much taxi's can cost,e.t.c.).

Thanks!

Present. As for arcades, they're constantly in flex, so I can't help you there. But I have a few good restaurants to suggest. I'll post them a bit later.

If you've been playing japanese fighting games, you'd have seen the stereotypical 'Sherlock Holmes' type England. It's really nothing like that - police don't dress in that way any more, nor do they ride bicycles, the streets aren't cobbled and nobody eats tea and crumpets at four, and as for patriotism in general, well, there are not many people still in favour of the royal family! I live in Manchester so I don't know London inside out, but there's a huge underground hip-hop scene if you're in to that. Anyway, enjoy your trip, man, I'm sure you will.

I live in London.

Segaworld is gone, it was bought by Family Leisure who are the worst arcade operators in the UK and the whole place is a total dump now. It's now called Funland and is a complete joke.

Namco Wonderpark is gone, this was the best arcade in the UK, all the players from there now play in Casino in Goodge St (Goodge St station, Northern Line)

Casino has (Some) good stuff, GGX, KOF 2000, VF4, SSF2 Turbo etc

Namco Station near Westminster (Big Ben, London Eye) is awful, no players, no decent games.

Restaurants:......
China Town Piccadilly Circus has Wong Kei, which is V cheap and the food is excellent of you can go to Lido near there which is also good but expensive, or Golden Dragon.

THE no.1 arcade in Manchester is the Namco arcade, Trafford Centre (massive building), Trafford Park.

Okay, I live in South-East London (half an hour away from the best London hangouts :D)

Anyways:
1. The best hangouts I would say are the small arcades or slot machines places near Chinatown because a lot of girls go there (the Asian ones are alomost always taken :()

2. Unfortunately the best arcade in London was shut down over two years *weeps*
But now there Goodge Street Casino which has a lot of the latest games (and the classics)
Or there's Namco Station near Westminster which does have some good games in it (they have VF4 and T4, VT2, Air Trix, the punching games etc.)

3. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you which resturants are the best but I do suggest you check out the Chinese and Japanese resturants because some of them are truly superb (food, service, the female staff etc)
However I don't remember any directions to the Japanese resturants.
But the two best Chinese resturants, Wong Kees and China China are in Chinatown, near Picadilly Circus.

Hmmmm maybe I should hold back a little - Sarah
