Today's poll: who's your favorite fighting game main character! Vote now or forever hold your peace!

A few notes: first of all, I know that I misspelled Shizumaru's name. Second, I wish that I had room for all of the main characters, but that's what the "others" option is for. And lastly, since I haven't played any of the Guilty Gear games, I wasn't sure who the main character was. By seeing pictures of the game, I assumed that it was Sol Badguy. Correct me if I'm wrong.

As always, be sure to explain why you picked the character that you did.

Oh, and one more thing. As usual I didn't include comic book characters, so Cyclops, Captain America and Cable are out.

Of course my choice is others, and my others choice is the one and only Sonic the Hedgehog. For those who don't know, the Sonic characters had their own fighting game, Sonic the Fighters (also known as Sonic Tournament) and of course, Sonic was the main character. Makes sense, no?

BTW, Sonic the Fighters utterly, utterly...ROCKS!!!

He was one of the main characters in Ikari Warriors along with Ralf. The game is a beat em up/shooter kinda deal, so maybe it can fall into the fighting category?

I've chosen the backstreet boy (Rock). I like others, like Ryu, Alex, Mitsurugi, Kyo... But Rock makes a good main char, imo

To be honest, I generally don't like the heroes of fighters, but I voted for Batsu, because he's actually pretty cool.
As a note, Haohmaru isn't the hero of SS 64, Asura is.

The original Sam Sho 64? I know that there were, like, 3 3d Sam Sho's, but I only played the first one (NeoGeo64) and it sure looked like Haohmaru was the main character to me....

There were two in the arcade, and an Playstation exclusive game that I've never played that apparently has a completely new cast. And despite looks, Haohmaru isn't the hero. It's like SS3, most people think he's the hero if that, too.. but he's not.
