It's come to my attention that some people are using avatar and sig sizes that seem to go well beyond normal size. It's good to know that everyone is being artistic, but it also lags the speed of the BBS.
As a quick measurement, please make sure that your avatar & tag combined does not exceed 70KB. This should be enough room to make good animated gifs, but doesn't hog the load on the BBS.

There's two animated icons right now- one's a red alert for emergencies, and the other is this rotating square used for smaller attention messages.
They're both meant for official announcement purposes so that it'll get people's attention in the BBS list. So it's only selectable for myself, sorry.

Your avatar is 4K and your tag is 5K. You have no need to make it small.

You should add that to the HTML code, so if the file sizes of the two combined exceed the 70K limit then the user's profile can't be modified until they meet that condition.

Yours combined are about 69-70kb, so you're right under the limit ^^.

HTML can't do that- HTML is just codes to show hyper-text on the screen. CGI should be able to do it, but I don't have enough knowledge on Perl to be able to check the content-length of remote files. So for the time being, it'll have to go manual.
