Nothing special, but you do get to check out all the available character races/types. Also, they do mention that in the actual game, players will be allowed to edit the body size and assign the starting job classes, etc.

What a very dumb thing you can't be a Male mithra!!!! May I can know why? that a stupid thing to put some rage with some restriction, Mithra are good theif, so you wanna be a good thief play as a girl characters...how stupid!!!

Basically there are very few male Mithra and they all hang out inside cities in their native land. Or something.
Yeah, that is too bad but I'm sure other races will make good thieves.
I really hope they have more face/hair/etc. options for creating your character in the final version though.
