Mmmmm!

I must get this album! I am a big fan of Kano Yoko! A real big fan! This is the music goddess we're talking about here!

Huh? Oh. Ahem! If you don't know who she is, she composed the music of series like Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop and Macross Plus. Oh and she also composed that one Card Captor Sakura theme, sung by Sakamoto Maaya.

Someone must give me details on this album! Arigatou! Arigatou gozaimasu! Honto ni! ^_^

(Eh he he. I was really hyper there, wasn't I? =P)

For info and sampleings of the album I was talking of, Click Here.

She does more than anime and games too... like Japanese TV commercials. I didn't know of it until recently, actually.

Not sure if these are the ones Prof is talking about because they're a bit old:

[Koei BGM The Koei BGM series are basically OSTs for the games that Yoko Kanno composed for when she worked at Koei. Each CD also has a few long synth-based arranges. Mostly collectors items, and very difficult to find. There may be other music on these CDs not by Kanno.

Koei BGM Vol.1 Zenkokuban, Sangokushi, Genghis Kahn H27E-20007 10/25/89 Original
Koei BGM Vol. 2 Sengokugunyuden H27E-20008 11/25/89 Original
Koei BGM Vol. 3 Sangokushi, Ishin no Arashi KECH-1001 4/25/90 Original
Koei BGM Vol. 4 Daikoukai Jidai KECH-1005 9/25/90 Original
Koei BGM Vol. 5 Bushoufuunroku SFC KECH-1023 1/25/92 Original
Koei BGM Vol. 6 Daikoukai Jidai SFC KECH-1031 11/26/92 Original
Koei BGM Vol. 8 Zenokokuban SFC KECH-1048 9/26/93 Original
Koei BGM Vol. 10 Haouden, Daikoukai Jidai 2 KECH-1053 1/26/94 Original

Yup, tis' the one. Kinda old since it's from 93', but I didn't know about it til I saw it today. This is good stuf. I've been a fan of hers since I picked up her Daikoukaijidai 2 album when I was around junior high or so.

I've been a fan of hers since Macross plus,, myself. She's just one of the more dynamic composers out there, with an ability to work in a variety of genres and still excell (Macross Plus, Escaflowne, and Cowboy Bebop are three very different soundtracks).

For fans of the Iron Chef, you'll notice that Kanno's music from Escaflowne gets played every now and then during the show as well...
