(catchy title, uh?)
I was looking at the back of my Parasite Eve game (the first more RPG-oriented one), and I noticed the "Mature sexual themes" advise in the ESRB rating. I've played through the game a couple of times (an excellent game, in my opinion, with an amazing soundtrack and a very cool end boss) but I don't remember any sexual reference on it... anyone remembers any?

Maybe as Whitesword told me Aya is too hot for them...

Another P.E. fan!
The Japanese version I own doesn't say anything about mature sexual themes... But it does have warning sticker about depiction of violence & grotesque expressions.
Guess Japanese didn't really mind seeing (sorta) naked Eve's (many) breasts in game (one of her last forms, remember?).

Although I am not a fan of hate Tetsuya Nomura-designed characters, Aya & the rest of Parasite Eve cast were total exception. Too bad the sequel never could capture the magic(?) of the original.

It's sad that people consider nudity a "mature sexual theme" regardless of context.

Remember that DoA3 got rated M purely for teh boobies, even if they are covered up. Of all the little quirks our country has, this one irritates me the most.

It gets really irritating for movies, as the R (or X rating) can get applied to alot of good quality movies that deal with sex and nudity in a frank way, yet a movie with lots of death and destruction can get away with a PG-13 rating...

From an outsider's point of view, it makes no sense.. random shocking violence is just fine; but it's worse to show the human body, which is a natural thing, on the telly than somebody getting decapitated, which is decidedly unnatural... odd.

Hell I'm American I still think it's stupid. Basically all the bitchy religious groups got their way here(Americans take religon much more seriously then Europeans. Not me I'm anthest, but others do). Those People were scared of their kids learning about things like sex too fast. But, the thing is when I was 7 I already knew all about that shit. So now, normal TV is pure crap. If you want real tv watch HBO. I love the Sopranos(sp?), it's got violence, nudity, cussing, and mobsters. I gave up on American TV till then.

I think the problem with us Americans is that:
-We're desensitized to violence.
-We're too lazy to raise our own kids.

I'm the mild mannered guy but I think that alot of thing are skewed and should be changed.

I can't say too much because I'm not from the US, but I'm VERY tired of stupid censorships in my games...

He he, yeah, as Rugal and ZamIam says, people can see some gruesome murders in videogames, but if you see a naked body, that's "bad", or against the moral... Just crap if you ask me...

And About Parasite Eve, I think the raring for mature sexual themes, refers to the reproduction theme, maybe it doesn't make any sense, but I've always thought that...

Think the major problem with nudity is that in most western thinking it's either not there or it's porn. The nudity in itself normally doesn't help itself. I've recently been pondering issues of violence, sex, and artistic display concerning my various game ideas.
