Chupiler and someone else (TheBeast, I think) brought up an interesting point in the Rage of the Dragons thread (the new one). Is anyone else getting tired of team fighting games? I know I am. I'm just itching...ITCHING for a new ONE-ON-ONE fighting game. MOTW2, a new SF, DS4...at least I have Soul Calibur 2 to look forward too. But lately, there have just been an overload of team-up fighting games.

I also think that crossovers are a bit overdone right now. Let's have some new games with people in their own continuity furthering their own storylines! Bah!

What do you think?

I totally forgot about this game. I haven't played any of the GG games, and it sounds like something I'd want to try out. As a matter of fact, I'm being offered a burnt copy of import GGX for my DC, since I don't have a PS2. Perhaps I should take up this offer...er, should I have said that?

Go for it. but the only thing is that most burnt copies of GGX have the music all screwd up. something like all trakc would'nt fit on the disk, so some have been deleted.

examples are : zato has may's music
testament has jam's music
johnny has fausts music.

I really need a fresh new fighter, with a new, innovative system. If your going to do a 2 on 2, how bout 2 on 2 for reals, not a tag match? The tag thing has been done to death......

That was an innovative game. Something like that with today's standard might be nice to see......Well, at least I'd rather see that than another tag battle...

Why can't Treasure make that game into an arcade game? They'd really show Capcom how it's done...

I'm not really tired of team games. I really like games that have the option to play as a team or in a single mode (CvS2, DoA games, Bloody Roar:PF (but it's mainly a one-on-one game). I am not tired of team games, but do really want another SF and DS and other one on one games. What I REALLY want is another Garou Densetsu/Fatal Fury game that takes place after 3. I need more games with Blue Mary AND Terry, darn it! *sighs, still angry Mary wasn't in CvS2, though he still likes the game*

I'd love to see SNK/Playmore or Capcom try their hand at QOH style vs matches, which would allows for some fun 4 player matches.

Yes, Tag battles are kind of boring, especially if they don't have the over the top combo's that the Marvel VS games had...

I don't think the combo system has much to do with the tag feature, though...

They need to implement tags more into the gameplay if they're going to do it, or limit tagging like Kizuna did.

That's right. Initially i thought Rage of the Dragons is a new 1-on-1 fighting game. But when I realised it is a kizuna-DD combined kinda fighting game, I was rather disappointed as there is nothing new about this game - Yes, the tag-team fighting game is getting boring and lame...Low life, tag out or tag juggles...they don't give the characters in the game much personality and space too...Thats why you don't see games like Rival School and Kizuna Encounter getting the attention they should.

I still believe that there is still room for making a superb 1-to-1 fighting game with unique game systems and characters. Mark of the Wolves have done a good job, so why aren't there more of such games around?

I'd say they should tie in the tags to the super bar, to limit the ammount of tagging that can be done. Or they should make the tagging motion more difficult then just a simple button press, and also make it that it takes time for the tag to happen (so a savvy gamer can interrupt it with a quick attack). I don't like the idea of limiting tags, though. Never was too keen on that idea...

I hope they don't have partner/striker assists in the game, though. Nothing can ruin a good old fashioned fight game like those (so easy to do, so cheesy...)

Yes; to keep the Tag feature out of something that has been done too many times they need importants restrictions or strategical turns to add a little of fun to it; or the game should better vanish away in the wind...

Tagging should be a hard art worthy of being mastered instead of pressing 1 or 2 buttons.

I don't so much mind seeing another tag game if it does introduce something new.

But really, for people saying how many tag games have been done there's still many, many more one on one fighters.

As long as the game is good I really don't mind, I need variety in my gaming. Someone mentioned earlier that being able to choose is the best, and I agree. SvC:MOTM on the NGPC was very cool in that respect, and others.

For any fighting game is a good thing. If I remember exactly the last 2 VS 2 was Marvel VS Street fighter, the other of the series were 3 vs 3.
Kizuna encouter or rival school are old game now so a 2 vs 2 game will bring some change after all. Wait for the game and how it plays it may be interesting after all.

1 vs 1 game are not a very much innovation, just an old tradition.
let there be game for every one taste.
