I just recently obtained a copy of this for the Dreamcast. I have played it a few times before. I'm not quite sure what to think of this game.

Well here are some thoughts and questions for you.
Some of the characters are very interesting and the moves are anything but repeats.
(1) What is your opinion on the characters of that game?

(2) Noting the orginal design of these characters would you welcome them in in crossover like CvsS and MvC2?
I would not mind, considering some of their powers.

(3) How do you feel about these characters being rank then?

(4) Anything else you would like to comment is welcomed.

MAN! YOU SHOULD TRY THE HORRIBLE PS VERSION!!
I'm not quite sure WHAT to make of that weird crap-fest.

Well:

1.The characters are from cool to semi-awful.I dunno what to make of some of them. Polnareff is gay,but Midler's pretty cool. The coolest is Joesph Joestar, though.

2.I'd welcome Midler,Joesph Joestar, and Muhammad Avdol into the crossovers, not sure about the others, though. The characters aren't THAT original, not at all.

3.I dunno.

4.I,for one, can't stand the awful art style. The art is truly awful. It's like a mix of manga/dirty sketch.

At least they included a bunch of extras to make up for the limitations of the psx. So its not a total loss.

I don't know whether you have seen either JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga or anime, but if you haven't, I'd definitely recommend you to check them out. You will appreciate the DC game adaptation a whole lot more after reading/watching manga & anime...

Btw, Capcom did release JoJo game for PSX also. And while it didn't compare to arcade/DC version graphically, it had a lot more interesting story mode. Too bad Capcom didn't include it for the DC version...

I actually like the game a lot, but that's because I'm a big fan of Jojo's Bizzare Adventure- the 3rd Chapter in particular, since that was being written about the same period when I started to read manga.

IMO, it's not a game with deep enough gameplay or system to satisfy a hardcore gamer. The title was really meant to be used to broaden the audience of fighting games to non-players in the Asian region (since its pretty popular even outside of Japan), kind of like how X-men was used as a title to introduce fighter games to non-players in the states by Capcom.

Oh! talking about Jojo'adventure!
I'm a very big fan of it, I've got the 73 volumes of the manga, and the 2 art books that exist! Now I'm geting the DvD...

Well the game is a great one, the characters are the same as in the book and have the same special attacks.
But now I'm waiting for the Ps2 version, because I'm a big fan of the 5th and 6th chapter.

That Stand system sure is wacky and hard to understand for a game meant for beginners...
