I do nothing! I'm a lazy bum!
He he he, seriously, I'm studying at the university, but at an open university, I mean, I just assist the Saturdays. I didn't had the chance to finish my university when I had the time... But oh well, after some time, I'm going to finish it in a month or two. After that I think I'm going to work, things are a bit harsh over here...
When I wasn't studying, I was working with an engineer, and I learned a lot of things, how to repair PC's, how to install networks, and tons of handy stuff!
And as for self learning, I'm still learning english, and I'm trying to learn Portuguese, Italian, German and French for myself, I can understand when I see something writen in those languages, but I can't talk it yet, but I will someday. I plan on learning japanese as well, but at the moment, that's too hard for me, I will stick to the languages aforementioned.

Well, I am a student at Macon State College, I'm transfering to Columbus State University to finish my drama degree there. I'll probably be there 2 or 3 years. I'm currently without a job (hopefully soon at a local Pacific Sunwear) and I am an actor. My goal in life is not to do stage acting, but to do screen acting. It is a very hard thing to succeed at, so I am hoping I will be able to.

I'm a first year student at the San Fransico Academy of Arts, my major is "Illustration" but it must be changed soon to "Illustation for Tradtional Animation", because see my schools stupid!
Everyone who wants to draw comics or game characters or concept art for cartoons goes into "Illustration" which is the wrong major... Illustration is a fine arts major, you spend most of your years at school learning figure drawing and clothed figure, this is so you can paint pretty pictures later on. Illustration for Traditional Animation is the cool stuff, you learn a little animation AND character design, story boarding, a little bit'o background design, all sorts of goodies like that...
So anyway I've got like 4 or 5 more years of that (it's only a 4 year school if you take 12 classes a day or something stupid like that) It's a terrible exisitance of no sleep, evil teachers, and lots of long term homework.... but when that nightmare ends a new one shall begin as I attempt to enter the professional comic book artist field. (I'm working on a 'triology' of comics right now I'd like to get published. The 'middle' book will probably start as a web-comic just to get my name out then be reworked for publication, see my Avatar... that's rough art from a test page... I'm actually going to need the board's imput on ways to color the comic, so stay tuned for that)

quote: Illustrator and full figure drawing studies are not useless these days, you can do stuff like illustration for magazines, newspapers, miscelaneous advertisements, or you can take more classes and become a medical illustrator.
you're absolutely right, Juan an "Illustration" major isn't worthless, but it's not the field most people want to enter when they take it at my school. At least 95% of the people who share my major are also switching, they want to design game characters not do medicial illustrations.
and by "paint pretty pictures" I mean you learn a lot about classic style, which is cool if you want to do medicial illustrations like DaVinici or a magazine article calls for some dead on accurate Michealangelo style art work, but it's not much for helping with character design.

I went to Maryland U for 2 years, and my major was ancient history /archeology with my sight on mesoamerican history. I wanted to be a teacher, a far cry from where I am now....*sigh* It's nice to see another history fan on this board ^_^
quote: Well, let's see... I'm a University of California graduate student working on his master's degree in history. I support myself by working as a TA (currently for World History - Twentieth Century). My specialty, however, is medieval history, although I'm pretty well-up on most things. I live and work on campus, though, so as you can imagine, I'm getting mighty sick of school. I'll probably transfer into UCLA for my doctorate, and then teach. I'd be glad to help anyone with any questions they may have about history!
