I do nothing! I'm a lazy bum!

He he he, seriously, I'm studying at the university, but at an open university, I mean, I just assist the Saturdays. I didn't had the chance to finish my university when I had the time... But oh well, after some time, I'm going to finish it in a month or two.
After that I think I'm going to work, things are a bit harsh over here...

When I wasn't studying, I was working with an engineer, and I learned a lot of things, how to repair PC's, how to install networks, and tons of handy stuff!

And as for self learning, I'm still learning english, and I'm trying to learn Portuguese, Italian, German and French for myself, I can understand when I see something writen in those languages, but I can't talk it yet, but I will someday.
I plan on learning japanese as well, but at the moment, that's too hard for me, I will stick to the languages aforementioned.

Well, I am a student at Macon State College, I'm transfering to Columbus State University to finish my drama degree there. I'll probably be there 2 or 3 years. I'm currently without a job (hopefully soon at a local Pacific Sunwear) and I am an actor. My goal in life is not to do stage acting, but to do screen acting. It is a very hard thing to succeed at, so I am hoping I will be able to.

It works like this. I go to Moorpark College where I can take whatever classes I want and that I'm able to. Along with that, I take high school english and history.
It's pretty fun. I've made a ton of new friends (I ahve to many friends) and the school ahs a nice arcade. Street Fighter 3 3rd strike and Mark of the Wolves right next to each other! Can you say heaven?

Right now I'm in community college learnin 3D animation and workin on my transfer to a university, where I'll beef up my drawing skills.

I'm a first year student at the San Fransico Academy of Arts, my major is "Illustration" but it must be changed soon to "Illustation for Tradtional Animation", because see my schools stupid!

Everyone who wants to draw comics or game characters or concept art for cartoons goes into "Illustration" which is the wrong major... Illustration is a fine arts major, you spend most of your years at school learning figure drawing and clothed figure, this is so you can paint pretty pictures later on. Illustration for Traditional Animation is the cool stuff, you learn a little animation AND character design, story boarding, a little bit'o background design, all sorts of goodies like that...

So anyway I've got like 4 or 5 more years of that (it's only a 4 year school if you take 12 classes a day or something stupid like that) It's a terrible exisitance of no sleep, evil teachers, and lots of long term homework.... but when that nightmare ends a new one shall begin as I attempt to enter the professional comic book artist field. (I'm working on a 'triology' of comics right now I'd like to get published. The 'middle' book will probably start as a web-comic just to get my name out then be reworked for publication, see my Avatar... that's rough art from a test page... I'm actually going to need the board's imput on ways to color the comic, so stay tuned for that)

Eee "paint pretty pictures" its an ugly ugly term!

Illustrator and full figure drawing studies are not useless these days, you can do stuff like illustration for magazines, newspapers, miscelaneous advertisements, or you can take more classes and become a medical illustrator.

But thats just an observation, im just a graphics monkey.

well im in my second last year of highschool. but I am taking OAC courses in art/illustration.
and I dont have a real part-time job now.

I do however "run" my own little buisness where I draw characters for my friends and they pay me.

If only I had a way to show you guys my art/characters. I dont mean to be cockey but hey are some amazing designs (I have many people to back up that point, who all play fighting games and say my designes kill lthose found in capcom/Snk/GG games)

once again.....if only I had a good scanner. i need to buy a new one. (the scanner now scans terrible quality and tends to "jam")

you're absolutely right, Juan an "Illustration" major isn't worthless, but it's not the field most people want to enter when they take it at my school. At least 95% of the people who share my major are also switching, they want to design game characters not do medicial illustrations.

and by "paint pretty pictures" I mean you learn a lot about classic style, which is cool if you want to do medicial illustrations like DaVinici or a magazine article calls for some dead on accurate Michealangelo style art work, but it's not much for helping with character design.

Awww....... Tal's job is cute! Sorry.. this is comming from someone who plans to be a teacher for a profession. I plan to teach English once I get out of college. (If all goes well I'll be teaching English in Japan. ^_~)

At the moment I am a mere highschool student in America. Which means... my education is severely abused. However... this is my senior year and next fall I shall be starting at college.

Though I have no official profession that I can report I work as a graphic illustrator, webpage designer, and comissions artist. I rarely get paid for these jobs, though... well to be exact.. I haven't been paid yet. (Needs to start enforcing her... "even friends must pay (though 1/2 price)" rule.)

I spend most of my time in studies, though. What I don't learn at school I learn at home. So being in the American school system you can understand how much I have to teach myself at home to keep up with the rest of the world. ^_^; Hence my lack of time. LOL

Well, I'm almost afraid to ask what the MAIN plan is. o_O But yes.. it'd look cool. It's unfortunate that to get all the education I want out of my college days I'd have to school swap too often. I need Japanese from the logacl 4-year.. but art from the not-so-local art colleges. o_O NO FAIR!

Hey, I'm not developing nuclear weapons or anything. That's your job

Actually, my real plan is to be an illustrator(anime-style all the way ), but there's also the demand for CG artists...hence the "backup".

Well, I studied for a degree in Computer
Science, and my major was computer graphics
and rendering technology, but I ended up as
a compositing artist for an advertising
production agency.

Quite an interesting job, but I've been
abused too much that I've decided to resign
probably at the end of this month and do my
masters degree plus lecture at a university
nearby.

So if any of you need some advice on tv/film
production and special effects, or 2d/3d
animation and processing, feel free to ask
me any questions ^_^

Bill Gates entered college, but didn't graduate. He says that in retrospect, his biggest disappointment with himself is that he didn't finish college. I'm kind of interested in his history since we are from the same hometown, and went to the same elementary school (then he broke off and went to private school). Some of the staff there have funny stories about him, he was (and is) a quirky guy. I saw him at a restaraunt once...

As of April 10 I WOULD have been working at Blockbuster for three years had I not quit. Currently working at Central Carolina Bank. Have a heavy and dedicated interest in game design (as my countless posts would show). Previously went to Johnson C. Smith University, taking a break this semester, and transferring to UNCC.

JCSU is a Historically Black University meaning:

1. No finacial aid for being a minority.
2. No (well, small) racial mix.
3. A bunch of incompetent teachers/staff with ego trips.
4. Minimal computer program
5. Private college=2X cost of normal college

The school wasn't all bad. There were a select few teachers, students, and situations I liked but on the whole it wasn't going to help me in the long run.

And the school was way too run down to cost as much as it did. A year at UNCC is less than a semester at Smith.

There is no Miss Zarves. There is no nineteenth story. Sorry.
