Eh, I don't mind as they can be made good if done right (I've seen it done before). Granted that rarely happens, but when it happens it does make good watch..

I just watch them for some quick laughs, plus I'll always need a bucket of crackers with me; each movie experience is overflowing with cheesy goodness!

Eh,they suck. Tomb Raider was awful. Despite Angelina's Jolie's shower teaser.
I do note care; you will see, companies set their attentions on the huge ruckus that the posibility of the movie creates and most people go to see them; despising if they are good or if they suck.
Profit is what rules there; not love to create a history, as it happens with my beloved "alternative movies".

I still don't know why everyone hated Tomb Raider, I liked it.

I don't care really. If it looks enjoyable I may watch it, if it doesn't then I won't.. Same critera for movies not based on videogames.. I would prefer that they not make crappy movies of course :P.

Could it because Lara Croft has as much personality as a sack of flour? the games as much fun as coating yourself in water and climbing an electric fence? or the fact the plot makes no sense? Maybe it was the fact Roger Ebert enjoyed it, which means it has to suck.

If you make a movie loyal to the game, only the people that know the game will appreciate the movie. (Resident Evil.)
If you try to modify the game's elements so everyone can watch the movie, it will most likely end up stupid and no one will like it. (Street Fighter.)
Either way you shoot yourself in the foot. Dont make game movies i guess (i'm waiting to see what they do with the sequel Resident Evil 2 Nemesis.)

Well.. ummm.. I guess it's sort of shallow for me to say... that I'm easy to please. If the movie follows the game, that's cool.. if it doesn't then that's cool too as long as it was at least decently interesting. I'm not so bent on the tiny little details that I'm gonna let it spoil my fun...
However.. what bothers me is when people do movies and then if they're real life movies the casters'll hire actors that look NOTHING like the character at all. >_< THAT bugs me.. that's just disrespecting the original artist.... ok.. so I have a soft spot for the poor artists. Hardly anyone bothers to learn their names. ^_^;
But like I said... I don't really care about details but it does bug me if they don't even try to get the characters right. If the plot doen't fit the original AND the characters don't fit then it's truely a different story.

Well, if you HAVE to make a game related movie, it would seem the first option was better, because at least some people would like it..
