I've bought today the first two tomes...

It's great!

Great drawings

Great story (Hey, simple but effective)

And... Great characters! I think that the best thing of the manga is the character's personality. It's well defined, and everyone is very interesting.

The characters are my favorite part of Love Hina, as they take the typical shonen love story settings and makes them fresh. All of them are unique and fun to read about (especially Su and Motoko...:)

Yay, glad to see another Love Hina fan :)

After the manga, try the anime if you
haven't seen it yet.
But for some people, they go from manga -> doujinshi -> anime

I couldn't care less about everyone but Mitsune "Kitsune" Konno. She rocks me. Oh, and the anime is a pile of crap next to the manga.

Uh huh.

Though the manga is way better, the anime is pretty good. I didn't see the dub, but I would shudder right off the bat.

Has the manga been brought over to the US or is it gonna be one of those where you need to search for translated scans?

The manga is just starting to get released by Tokyopop (The new king of US manga). The graphic Novel should be coming out in a couple of months, and is the best way to collect the series.

If you're a bit impatient, though (^^), and have a Japanese book store near by you can find copies of Kodansha's bilingual manga as well. The translation is not bad, though it does have a tendacy to be wooden in places.

There are scans up to the end of the series, if you want to look for those as well..:)

Hmm, so much English Manga coming out this year that I might not be able to get all that I want. Kodoma no Omocha, Marmalade Boy, Love Hina, Angelic Layer, GTO, plus all the stuff I usually get...-.-

Cool, i guess i can wait, but ill try to hunt down one of those bilingual ones. If the anime is this good (i dont understand the bashing by that ign guy after watching this, i hope he doesnt do reviews anymore) i wonder how the manga is.

Anyway, how long is the tv series?

Ohh man I simply love "Love Hina" what a great history.
I have seen all the serie and the specials
chapters and the 2 first ovas. Only that I need to see is last ova and the manga; I really love the characters of Kanako, Mutsumi, and Kaolla, they are excellent!

what makes the manga better? maybe some scenes were left off n a lot of nudity removed but story wise imo is better than the manga.

There characters are more charismatic and the story is less dramatic in the manga...

In the anime, Keitaro is a clumsy, slow moron all the way though, and Motoko and Naru are unreasoning and cruel bitches all the way though. In the manga though, Kei slowly becomes more in control of himself and eventually becomes quite the cool character, and Motoko and Naru get over their bitchiness and start being nice to him. I mean, episodes and episodes of meaningless violence is okay, but it was refreshing to read in the manga about how the main characters worked out their differences.
